How does it compare?
Speed
The Hycan V09 cuts through the air with a top speed approaching 100 mph (160 km/h), putting it firmly in the fast lane. The Maxus eDeliver 9 lumbers along at a considerably slower 75 mph (120 km/h). Comparatively, the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter struggles to engage its afterburners beyond 75 mph (120 km/h) as well. The Ford E-Transit figures it can do the job at 80 mph (128 km/h), while the Peugeot e-Expert tags along at 81 mph (130 km/h).
Range
When it comes to range, the Hycan V09 flexes its sizeable battery muscles, providing a robust 379 miles (610 km) on a single charge. The Maxus eDeliver 9 just can’t keep up, pushing itself only to 146 miles (235 km). Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter makes a valiant effort with about 93 miles (150 km) but still falls woefully short. It’s quite impressive having the Ford E-Transit in your corner hitting nearly 196 miles (315 km). The Peugeot e-Expert, however, keeps chugging around the corner with an adequate 205 miles (331 km).
Power
In terms of sheer power, the Hycan V09 brings 200 kW (268 hp) to the battlefield. It’s a real heavyweight fight with the Maxus eDeliver 9 mustering a respectable 150 kW (201 hp). As for the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter, its 85 kW (114 hp) looks rather feeble by comparison. The Ford E-Transit comes in swinging at 198 kW (265 hp), a close match. Then we have the Peugeot e-Expert tiptoeing in respectfully with its 100 kW (134 hp), hoping not to get trampled in the scuffle.
Charging Time
Charging time, that great equalizer. The Hycan V09 can juice up to 80% in a brisk 45 minutes on a fast charger. The Maxus eDeliver 9 seems to be stuck at the proverbial pump for 2 hours to get to the same level. The Mercedes-Benz eSprinter again struggles to impress, requiring a dreary 60 minutes. The Ford E-Transit decides to take a leisurely approach with around 48 minutes for an 80% charge. Meanwhile, the Peugeot e-Expert saunters in at a relaxed 30 minutes.
Price
Lets sink our teeth into the wallet-grabbing aspect. The Hycan V09 is priced attractively at around $43,600 (roughly £39,200, €45,400). The Maxus eDeliver 9 goes for about $70,000 (£62,800, €72,800) for its highest spec version. The Mercedes-Benz eSprinter comes in a bit steeper at $52,000 (£46700, €54,800). Youll get the Ford E-Transit for a more modest $51,000 (£45,900, €53,200). Peugeot e-Experts pricing is quite akin at about $52,000 (£46,800, €54,800).
It seems the Hycan V09 squares off rather competitively with its contemporaries. Fast, powerful, and with a range to make its rivals green with envy while keeping the buyers’ pockets relatively untouched.
