The new Aptera will be powered by three electric wheel motors of 50kW (68hp) each. Efficiency will be evaluated when only two front ones are turned on, the third, apparently, should be connected during intensive acceleration. The Americans want to offer customers several traction batteries of different capacities. At the moment, three options are named: for 40, 60 and 100 kWh.
The TOP version of the battery should, according to preliminary calculations, provide the model with a power reserve of 1600 km on charging with an energy consumption of 62.5 W•h/km. The liquid-cooled lithium-ion batteries (allegedly unusual in appearance, details not disclosed) will be supplied by sister firm Flux Power, co-founded by Anthony and Johnson.
